whatever you do, do NOT drink tea, coffee, or pop within 3 or 4 hours of the time you are going to try and fall asleep. The caffeine in these products is gonna kill your chances of falling asleep. It will take time if you have developed a habit of late sleeping..but from my experience I can tell you that if you try to sleep early everyday then this problem will be reduced...but please don't go for sleeping pills as it will only make this problem worse. more

Yes, I would recommend that she talk to her pediatrician about this.  My concern would be a form of high functioning autism.  The rhythmic rocking and "quirks about food and order" are all signs/symptoms of autism.  Sounds like he does fairly well, but some of those things could improve with the right diet and possibly some counseling.  more

As a general answer to being always tired or fatigued, I would start making a food diary. Are there certain days you feel tired or just some days. It could be some foods you eat. Too much coffee and or sugar can certainly do this. Pay attention to the days you feel so tired and then look back and see what you ate the last two days. more

I have become a nap person. I think it started when I found I enjoyed working late at night at home when it is so quiet. So sleeping about 5 or 6 hours at night and then a 1.5 hour nap gives me two mornings in a sense. I wake up and like to get right to work. I sleep more hours in the winter than in the summer. more
